Printmaking + Paper Folding!

Untitled by Taro Takizawa, 2024. Monotype, paper folding.

In this workshop, we will combine printmaking and paper folding techniques to explore the possibilities of three-dimensional works on paper. Students will start with printing a variety of gradients (split-fountain) on paper for as much as we can in the first 2-3 days. Once those colorful prints are dried, we will fold them in a variety of patterns such as: basic repeating patterns, pleated folds, crumpling, and other sculptural paper folding techniques. All levels welcome.

Funding for Taro Takizawa’s teaching position is provided by the Mary Howe Faculty Fund for Book Arts.
