Weave-aoke! You’ve Got Me Weavin’ Emotions

775 Queer Horizons by John Fifield-Perez, 2023. Wool, 42" x 576".

Music and weaving share many overlaps through rhythm, coordinated movements, breath, and notation systems. An activated weaving studio can be a cacophonous space that invites improvisation. The studio can shift from an individual practice to a communal space to a karaoke stage. As we share in the delights and frustrations of weaving on a floor loom for the first time, we will prioritize reciprocity, honesty, vulnerability, and ultimately, community, in which each individual participates as both performer and audience. Exclusive for beginners.
