Dye, Cut, Sew

Maeve Kaftan in Canyon by Rachael Levine, 2025. Shibori dyed silk chiffon, cut and sewn into a kaftan. 30" x 52" long. Photo by Meg MacDonald.

In this workshop, we will experiment with Shibori techniques, leaning into multi-step dye processes. Participants will add and remove color and discover unexpected colorways, letting the fabric be their guide. You will learn which techniques favor which kinds of fabrics. Participants will ultimately construct wearable pieces, keeping in mind the properties and nature of their specific textile. All levels welcome.
