MARY BEASOM BISHOP 2017 CHALLENGE FOR THE ANNUAL FUND
Haystack is pleased to announce the Mary Beasom Bishop 2017 Challenge — recently initiated by four women on the school’s Board of Trustees. This $20,000 challenge is intended to help us reach a record goal of $300,000 for the Haystack annual fund at a time when support for the arts is more important than ever.
The Mary Beasom Bishop 2017 Challenge is an invitation to support Haystack with a new — or increased — gift to this years’ annual fund. Donations made through October 31, 2017 (the end of our fiscal year), will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $20,000.
We thought it fitting that with women leading this effort, we take this opportunity to honor the school’s founder, Mary Beasom Bishop. It was her vision, pioneering spirit, and generous patronage that allowed a radical idea, such as establishing a craft school in rural Maine in 1950, to take root and grow into the vital institution that Haystack has become.
Our sincere appreciation to everyone who has already given to the Haystack annual fund this year – thanks to your support, we have raised nearly $260,000, to date. Raising an additional $40,000 – or more – by the end of our fiscal year will allow us to set a record for annual fund giving.
Thank you for your support!
