Join us to explore steam bending for creating functional objects like trays, mirror frames, small tables, and wall shelves. In this workshop, you will learn essential steam-bending techniques, engage in creative design sessions, and build your own prototype of a daily-use item. From sketching to creating a final project, this workshop values teamwork. It is ideal for those looking to improve their woodworking skills and ignite creativity through a design-centered approach. Basic woodworking experience and familiarity with the use of general woodworking machines are required. Seasoned beginners/intermediate levels welcome.
Funding for Yuri Kobayashi’s teaching position is provided by the Samuel J. Rosenfeld Faculty Fund for Sculpture in Ceramics or Wood.
