Think Tank: Laboratory for Clay Thinkers
For the Shape of Things by Keith Simpson, 2021. Slip cast and tool formed elements in porcelain, earthenware, and brass, 8" x 17" x 12".
Weaving traditional practices with modern approaches, this workshop emphasizes open-ended inquiry over fixed outcomes. Participants will generate glaze tests, clay forms, and digital prototypes while cultivating new strategies to expand their creative practice. This workshop will incorporate experimentation with traditional and new technologies like the clay 3D printer. Designed for artists and potters with an adventurous spirit, this workshop offers a primer in experimental methods for pushing ceramics into the future while remaining grounded in its rich past. All levels welcome.
