Annual AppealDonations made to Haystack’s annual fund support the school’s annual operating budget. These funds keep attendance fees affordable, and help ensure that Haystack operates in the “black”, maintaining its leadership role in craft education. November 2016

Dear Friend,

In your hands you are holding the most important letter we will send you all year. It asks one simple and direct question – will you support the 2017 Haystack annual fund?

When Mary Beasom Bishop founded Haystack in 1950, it was truly an act of profound generosity, inspired by the belief in an idea that had to be shared with others. Our history reminds us how one person can make a difference, and it is in this spirit that we come to you with our annual appeal.

The annual fund has never been more necessary as we look ahead to investing in new diversity initiatives, expanded marketing and outreach efforts, redesigning our website and developing new directions for community programs.

Your support will also help us to re-invest in our award-winning campus, maintain dynamic programs (like the fab lab, programs for veterans, workshops for teens, and the open studio residency), attract world class faculty and visiting artists and offer full scholarship support to one-quarter of our students. None of this is possible without your support.

With your help, we are hoping to attract over 900 donors to this year’s annual fund. Your tax-deductible contribution, regardless of the amount, plays a vital role in our efforts to secure additional sources of funding by demonstrating to foundations and other granting agencies the strong support we have from those who believe in the work we do.

So please grab a pen, pick up the phone, or visit our website. You will be investing in the possibilities that lie ahead for future generations at the school.

With warm regards,

       Paul Sacaridiz, Director
